I'm in a class called the History of Japan. In this class we are in the era of the Meiji restoration. It doesn't matter what era we are in though, because this blog post is about a history funny of the day. Which happened to happen in my Japan class.
My teacher is discussing why Russia would want to go through Manchuria, then Korea, then Japan. To get to the Pacific Ocean to have a sea port. Which would lead to more domination in the world trade.
So she is explaining after a war Japan is now in control of Korea. "Which western country would want to overtake Japan and Korea??" She asks.
We all look at her questioningly. We say Britain, Portugal, and France, as well as other countries in Europe.
She looks unhappy with us. "You guys what have we been talking about this whole time??"
We all respond "Russia"
If it weren't for the Cold War y'all would know Russia is a western country.
